Operating on the family “story” that Johnny Appleseed  is their 6^th Great Uncle.  I have been working both forward and backwards from this “assumption”.  I began with the parents of John Appleseed and his half-brothers.  Generation 7: the four half-brothers of Johnny Appleseed who had male issue.  It is at this point that I am prohibited from coming forward in time due to the lack of information for generations 8, 9, 10, & 11.  For lack of ability to continue in this direction I proceeded to trace back Nathaniel Chapman ’s ancestry.  The designators beside each name refers to that person as they are shown in the previous section of genealogy.
