Catherine Robinson , daughter of James & Catherine (Howell) Robinson , b. 1694; d. 1760; m. 1715, Delaware to Bryan McDonnell /  Bryan McDonald [iv], son of Lt. Bryan & Mary (Comyns) McDonnell , b. 1686, New Castle, Delaware; d. 1757, Augusta Co., VA.

Bryan McDonnell, II  settled with his family in Botetourt Co., VA in 1745.

Bryan & Catherine ( Robinson ) McDonald  had nine (9) children:

1.       Richard McDonald , b. 1716
2.       James McDonald , b. 1718
3.       Edward McDonald , b. 1720; d. 1760, killed by Indians.
4.       Joseph McDonald , b. 1722, settled in Montgomery Co., VA in 1763; m. to Elizabeth Ogle .  They had nine (9) children.
5.       Rebecca McDonald , b. 1724; m. to unknown Barnes .
6.       Catherine/Katherine McDonald , b. 1727; m. to Unknown   Armstrong .
7.       Mary McDonald , b. 19 Jan 1730, Augusta Co., VA; m. to Tobias Smyth .
8.       Bryan McDonald , Jr. , b. 1732.  He served in the Revolutionary War.
9.       Priscilla McDonald , b. 1734.

7.  Mary McDonald[v], daughter of Bryan & Catherine (Robinson) McDonald  II , b. 19 Jan 1729/30, New Castle, Delaware; d. aft. 1808, Washington Co., VA[vi] ,m. abt. 1748[vii], probably Augusta Co., VA to Tobias Smyth [viii], son of Hans Jurgen & Maria (Stalcop) Smidt , b. 16 Mar 1724/25, New Castle, Delaware[ix] d. Nov 1781, Washington Co., VA[x]. After Tobias’ death, his wife, Mary (McDonald) Smyth  m 2nd abt. 1794[xi] to Samuel Scott , Sr.  

Tobias & Mary (McDonald) Smyth  had five (5) children:

1.1.   Jonas Smyth , b. 11 Apr 1750
1.2.   Catherine Smyth , m. Elisha McNew .
1.3.   Edward ‘Edmond’ Smyth , b. 1761, VA; m. Hannah Crabtree [xii], daughter of William & Hannah (Whitacar/Whittaker) Crabtree .
1.4.   Rebecca Smyth , b. 25 Jun 1775; d. 19 Apr 1864, Lee Co., VA; m. Job Crabtree [xiii], son of William & Hannah (Whitacar/Whittaker) Crabtree , of Saltville, VA, b. 29 Apr 1765; d. 12 Jan 1828, Shavers Ford, VA.
