The Surname Senter can be found to be of English and German origin

Another family of Senter descended from Tandy Senter  of Virginia is found in Jefferson Co., TN [adjacent to Green] about the beginning of the nineteenth century.

There is a Stephen Sunter in Hanover Co., VA in 1724 thru 1733, although no connection has yet been found.

Thomas Preston  transported a William Senter  to Virginia in 1652, but again no connection has been found.
