William Walthall , b. 1608; d. 1669-1670; m. ca. 1656 to Ann Archer , of Port Walthall, Henrico Co., VA.  Ann (Archer) Walthall  m 2nd by 1672 to Rev. Richard Morris.

William Walthall  immigrated from England to Henrico County, Virginia and arrived in the Colonies prior to 1656.

Anne Archer Walthall’s name is found recorded in 1672 as Anne Archer Walthall Morris .

William & Ann (Archer) Walthall  had four (4) children:

There are numerous alternate spellings for his first name:  Jarrett, Jarret, Jerrard, Gerrat, Garred.

In 1773, Jarred Walthall  leased his plantation to William Bragg  for 15 years and sold it to him in 1786[vi].

In 1783 he served as an appraiser for the estate of Isham Stroud [vii]

Revolutionary War Service:

He furnished supplies to the Colonial Army in Virginia.[viii]

Bequests:           negro slaves to sons Edward and William and daughter Rebecca, and to grandson Singleton (son of William).  He devised 17 negroes and the tract or parcel of land I now live on, supposing to be 80 acres: which was to go to his sister Sarah Walthall  Bass , and her children.  Now living in Halifax County, Virginia.  In the vent Singleton should die under age or with an heir.  Son William as to have full maintenance during life, out of the property left to Singleton

Edward Walthall  migrated to Georgia with his father.  He eventually settled in Jasper County.

Nancy Turman  emigrated from Scotland to Virginia[xii].

Edward Walthall  received a land grant for 640 acres in Elbert County, Georgia for services in the Revolution.[xiii]
