Some of the Greens went to Lunenburg Co., VA, and into Charlotte Co., which was taken from Lunenburg.  A Lewis Green  married there (date unknown, guessing 178?) [i].

  1. Burwell Green [ii], b. 1750, Culpeper Co., VA; d. bet. 1826-1831, Jasper Co., Georgia; m 1st VA to unknown; m 2nd  1810, Georgia to Nancy ‘Nannie’ (Mitchell) King
  2. William Green [iii], d. killed in the Northeastern Campaign – during Revolution
  3. Thomas Green [iv], b. 1758/1759

1.  Burwell Green , b. 1750 Culpepper Co., VA; d. bet. 1826-1831, Jasper Co., Georgia ; m 1st VA to unknown; m 2nd 1810, Georgia to Nancy ‘Nannie’ ( Mitchell ) King , possible daughter of William Mitchell .

It appears from the will of Burwell that his 2nd wife Nancy, had been a widow at the time of their marriage as he names her son, John Mitchell King .

Unknown King  m. Nancy Mitchell .  They had a son:

Does this tie in with the Thomas Green  of Jasper Co., Georgia who states in his pension application that he entered the service as the substitute for William Mitchell ?  Could this William Mitchell be the father or brother of Nancy Mitchell  King Green?

24 Oct 1832 – Tried for Pension:  State of Georgia , County of Jasper :

Thomas Green  entered service, the substitute of William Mitchell  at Charlotte Court House, Charlotte Co., VA. “He had a brother Burwell Green  who was engaged in the battle of Guilford – Burwell Green , a regular soldier whose name may be found on the Revolutionary Rolls – Burwell Green  is now dead.”

5 Jan 1835 – Tried for Pension:  State of Georgia , County of Jasper :

Thomas Green , age 76.  William Green , another brother, was a regular soldier and was killed in the Northern Campaign.  Thomas Green  thinks he was born in the year 1758.  There is a record in Wilkes County , Georgia , where he lived for about 25 years.”
