Mahaley Elizabeth Livingston , b. 26 Jan 1861, Mississippi; d. 5 Nov 1945; m 1^st to Abner Singleton [i], d. Nov 1890 (Mahaley was 7 months pregnant with Arthur at the time[ii]); m 2^nd bef. 1895 to William Nelson Holt , son of Sterling  & Emma (Dalton) Holt , b. 15 Oct 1865, Grainger Co., TN; d. 28 Jul 1921.

Abner  & Mahaley Elizabeth (Livingston) Singleton  had three (3) children:

1.        Sophia Singleton , m. to Mr. Anderson  
2.        Hugh C. ‘Huey’ Singleton , b. 24 Nov 1887; d. 27 Jul 1978, Parline , NJ ; m. to Stella Arthur , d. Parline , NJ .
3.        Arthur Singleton , b. 28 Jan 1891[iii]; d. 17 Oct 1958[iv]

William Nelson  & Mahaley Elizabeth ( Livingston )(Singleton) Holt  had two (2) children:

4.       Sterling Elbert Holt , b. 19 Jul 1896; m. to Bertha Lucinda Vaughan , daughter of William N . & Susan Alice (Deboard) Vaughan .  
5.       Bertha Holt , m. to Mr. Johnson .
